Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling
The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling degree is completed in three phases:

PHASE I:
COURSEWORK
Students must complete the following courses:

CC101: Creation Therapy
-
CC102: Basic Christian Counseling
-
CC103: Christian Psychology & Counseling
-
CC104: Mastering Pastoral Counseling Utilizing Temperament
-
CC105: Quality, Ethics & Legal Issues in Christian Counseling
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Students must complete the following:
-
Complete a practicum, consisting of administering the APS report to 10 individuals.

Complete three hours of clinical supervision.
-
Submit responses to the NCCA’s National Licensing Board of Examiners.
-
Submit a headshot or photo.
-
Submit a resume detailing ministry & vocational experience and all application requirements
-
Apply for Membership to the National Christian Counselors Association.
-
Apply for Membership to the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling.
-
Begin ordination process if not currently ordained
Following the student’s completion of Phase I, he or she will earn:
-
Certified Temperament Counselor from the National Christian Counselors Association
-
Membership in the National Christian Counselors Association
-
Membership in the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling
PHASE II:
COURSEWORK
Students must complete the following courses:
-
CC106: Temperament Case Studies
-
CC107: Counseling the Codependent
-
CC108: Counseling for Significance and Freedom

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Students must complete the following:
-
Complete a practicum, consisting of administering the APS to 15 more individuals.
-
Complete three additional hours of clinical supervision.
-
Complete an application for NCCA licensure as a Certified Pastoral Counselor.
-
Complete a background check for licensure.
-
Provide (or complete and earn) ministerial credentials.
Following the student’s completion of Phase II, he or she will earn:

Certified Pastoral Counselor from the National Christian Counselors Association
PHASE III:
COURSEWORK
Students must complete five additional courses. Depending on the courses chosen, students are eligible to receive *Advanced Certification.

CC110: Counseling and Self Esteem

Elective Course #1 (advanced certified option)

Elective Course #2 (advanced certified option)

Elective Course #3 (advanced certified option)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Students must complete the following:

Complete a 500 question, open-book Bible exam
-
Complete the matriculation process to award the student’s degree.
Following the student’s completion of Phase III, he or she will earn:

Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling
-
Licensed Pastoral Counselor from the National Christian Counselors Association
-
Advanced Certification (if applicable)
